It is good to have friends and colleagues who have already overcome the “soviet” attitude to life and the business they do.
The AAUCA management and some members have always been interested in the stage at which post-Soviet countries are in the process of transition to European regulations of the aviation industry and airport activities (directives, regulations, etc.). Not to mention development strategies, master and business plans, guidelines, regulations, etc.
At events organized by ACI Europe, we have repeatedly talked to CEOs of airports in Europe, including the Baltic States.
And now the opportunity arose - at the invitation of the Riga International Airport management to participate in the Riga Aviation Forum, which took place on 18-19.09.25.
AAUCA delegation headed by President Petro Lypovenko included:
- Oleksandr Lemeshkin - Senior Aviation Project Manager (Recovery and Reform Support Team at the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine);
- Hryhorii Holodniak, Head of the Department, State Aviation Safety Supervision Inspector of the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine (SAAU);
- Volodymyr Chalyk, Deputy Head of the Air Navigation Service (UkSATSE);
- Vasyl Tsyganok - Chief Project Engineer, AERO DC,
was greeted with friendly applause from the event's participants, who numbered about 200 people.
The forum proved to be interesting and useful: it featured speeches by the top executives of the Ministry of Transport, the Latvian Aviation Administration, and managers of all major aviation activities. Each presentation reflected the current state of the industry and its development prospects.
For example, the aviation industry development strategy developed by the Ministry of Transport and the Latvian Aviation Administration until 2050.
During the breaks, we were able to talk to all the top officials, regardless of whether it was a minister or a representative of a particular area of activity - everyone had time to talk.
Our presentations on the state of Ukraine's aviation industry, wartime problems and plans to resume air transportation were received with attention and understanding. Everyone sincerely sympathized with us and expressed their support and assistance.
The hosts, the organizers of the event, were especially warm and friendly. The entire program, including our request to visit the airport's infrastructure facilities, talk to the management of various airport activities and airline market participants, was fulfilled. We received full and professional responses.
A Memorandum was signed for further cooperation and development of relations between AAUCA and Riga International Airport. On behalf of AAUCA, the document was signed by President Petro Lypovenko, and on behalf of the airport - by CEO Laila Odina.
We can only envy such a friendly and professional attitude and sincere welcome: from the flags of Ukraine to the conversations in Ukrainian. We are very grateful for this and hope that everything will be restored here after the war is over.
