On April 1, 2026, a meeting of the Aerodrome Technical Committee (ATC) of the Association of Civil Aviation Airports of Ukraine (ACAU) was held.
The event was attended by representatives of the professional community (operators, scientists, researchers, designers, and builders) who know firsthand what an aerodrome complex entails. They have a track record of surveying, designing, constructing, and commissioning numerous aerodrome facilities. Regarding the maintenance of aerodromes in operational condition, including during winter without closure, a record was set for Boryspil Airport: over 10 years of continuous operation. All this experience has been accumulated over nearly 50 years under various circumstances and conditions.
Based on the reports and discussions, a collegial decision was made, taking into account the current state of airport facilities, as well as the establishment of a working group under the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine to resume the operation of Ukrainian airports, to draft and send a letter with relevant information and proposals to the Deputy Minister—the head of the aforementioned working group (provided in the appendices below).
The event took place in a friendly, professional, and comfortable atmosphere thanks to the hosts—AERO DS, a division of the company “Progress Tech Ukraine,” a regular participant in the AAUCA since 2013, to whom we are sincerely grateful.
